All are invited to the International Multi-Arts Festival where you will become transported to exotic locales and immersed in the music, song, dance and visual arts of a myriad of cultures.
Sponsored by the Asian-American Cultural Circle of Unity (AACCU) the program begins with a stage performance from 1-3pm featuring classical Hindustani music, traditional Asian and modern dance, an excerpt from a contemporary Broadway play, Chinese folk and traditional songs and a Thai fashion show. Part 2 shines the spotlight on Spain, Argentina and Cuba with a dynamic performance by professional musicians, singers and dancers. After that the curtain comes down and the dazzling works of professional visual artists are showcased along with traditional costume displays, arts and crafts demos and a Latin Dance workshop.
Part 3 is the Gala Reception from 4-6pm – with delicious multinational cuisine, a children and adult costume show and live music and dance. The program ends with a stirring performance by the area’s most popular taiko drummers, Ryu Shu Taiko. Admission to the stage performance is $15 for the general public, $10 for seniors and students and $5 for children under 10. For the reception, tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children under 10. Admission to the costume displays, demos and workshops is free.
